Dustin Smith

Program Director

2022 RED

Dustin has spent a large portion of his life in a gym and around the game of basketball.  Whether he was playing the game or coaching the game, the level of commitment to the sport has remained.

Dustin grew up in Kokomo, Indiana where he attended Northwestern High School.  While at Northwestern his teams won two Sectional titles, and a Regional title.   Dustin then continued his basketball career at Joliet Junior College where he still holds the school record for assists with 647 over two years.   In 2000 at JJC he was also named Conference Player of the Year.  After two seasons at JJC ,Dustin moved on to play at Arkansas Tech University.  During his stint at ATU he had a great impact on the game; he is still the only player to have a triple double, and ranks 8th in school history for assists in only 2 years of playing.  Upon graduating Dustin went into sales and spent 15 years in the field.  In that time he continued to play in men’s leagues, coach youth sports as well as high school sports.  While living in Arkansas he was a boys and girls high school assistant at Bismarck High School.

Through a series of events and some health issues, Dustin moved back to Indiana to be near his family.  Since being back in Indiana he has inundated himself with basketball.  Dustin has been an assistant at Westfield High School, he ran the Westfield Boys Travel Program for four years and is coaching the Grand Park Premier 2022 Red team.

Dustin has two sons, Braden and Maddox, with his wife Ginny.  When he’s not in the gym he loves to travel with his family and friends.

I am a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School and Purdue University. I am a self employed farmer and a Production Manger in a Magnesium Foundry in Anderson. I have been coaching youth and high school kids for over 20 years. I am currently coaching 8th grade basketball at Madison Grant Jr./Sr. High School. I want all my players to learn, develop and play the game the right way. When not in a gym, my wife, Shannon, and two kids, Kaden and Jase, love spending time traveling and being on the water boating.
